This oil line feeds the front turbocharger cool oil. This oil line can fail over time in a variety of ways. The most common failure is external leaks where the crimped connection between the braided hose and fitting starts to leak. Reduced oil flow to the turbocharger can lead to premature failure of the turbocharger. Additionally, it's a good practice to replace the turbocharger oil lines when replacing turbochargers to ensure the new turbocharger has an unobstructed flow of oil. Old or original turbo oil lines may have restricted flow due to internal collapse of the line or from oil that has solidified inside the line from high heat over a prolonged time period.
